Before undergoing surgery, it’s crucial to have a thorough discussion with your surgeon. Here are some general pre-op questions to consider:

    1. What are the specific goals and expected outcomes of this surgery?
Clarify what you can realistically expect from the procedure.

    2. What are the potential risks and complications?
Understand the possible side effects and complications, and how they will be managed.

    3. What is the estimated recovery time?
Ask about the duration of the recovery period and what to expect during this time.

    4. Are there any pre-operative tests or evaluations required?
Find out if you need any tests, imaging, or evaluations before the surgery.

    5. What medications or supplements should be avoided before the surgery?
Get a list of any medications, supplements, or lifestyle changes you should adhere to before the procedure.

    6. What should I do on the day of the surgery?
Understand the logistics, including arrival time, fasting instructions, and what to bring.

    7. Will I need any post-operative care or assistance?
Inquire about any support or care you’ll need after the surgery, including follow-up appointments.

    8. What are the options for pain management post-surgery?
Discuss how pain will be managed after the procedure and what medications or therapies will be available.

    9. Are there any specific pre-operative instructions I need to follow?
Review any specific guidelines related to diet, hygiene, or activity levels before the surgery.

    10. How will the results be evaluated, and when can I see the final outcome?
Ask about follow-up appointments and how the results will be assessed over time.

    11. What are the costs and payment options for the procedure?
Clarify the total cost of the surgery, including any additional fees, and available payment options.

    12. What is the surgeon’s experience and track record with this procedure?
Ensure your surgeon has the appropriate experience and success rate for the specific surgery you’re undergoing.

Having these questions answered can help you feel more informed and prepared for your upcoming procedure. Goodluck!

    In addition to this :
    1. What are the specific goals and expected outcomes of this surgery?
Clarify what you can realistically expect from the procedure.

Asking your surgeon what specifically would happen will be useful if you yourself have your own goals.

In this way, you will be able to know if this is the correct surgeon who can give you the results you want.

If at anytime there are goals you wants to happen and the surgeon did not include in his specific results, then he is not the one.

You can always and SHOULD go and find a new surgeon.

This is your body and the results will be your results forever, so it has to be something that you want and not what the surgeon wants.
