At 29, I found myself at a crossroads between my vibrant career in tech and a nagging insecurity about my body. Despite my rigorous workout routine and healthy diet, stubborn fat around my hips and abdomen refused to budge, leaving me feeling frustrated and self-conscious. I’m 40, mother of 2 lovely now grown adult women. I was happy with my body post-COVID. I was not super sexy like a model but I was healthy and weighed okay. However, when COVID happened, I got stuck at home for almost 2 years!!!!! Nothing to do but eat and sleep, no exercise no nothing…
I started to go heavy, after the pandemic I was diagnosed with high cholesterol, diabetes, high blood pressure, high uric acid, and fatty liver… I was prescribed a ton of maintenance medications and was on these for 2 years. My health did not improve… my maintenance became stronger…
Because of that, I decided to take a different approach to this… exercise… SERIOUSLY. I had a lifestyle change… stopped smoking, no alcohol, black coffee ONLY, and ate healthy.
I lost more than 20 lbs I stopped my medication and everything went back to normal.
However, I still have some fat in my body, and I am still not at my ideal weight. I still have a lot of fat and a lot of loose skin most especially around the tummy part.
Because of this, I decided to do liposuction and it was the best decision I made. Together with Liposuction I also had Renuvion to tighten the loose skin on my tummy, which was a lifesaver (financially that is) since I did not need to have a tummy tuck. Renuvion is minimally invasive which is a procedure you can have together with a liposuction to avoid tummy tuck.
I know friends who had liposuction and they all liked the results. But EVERY one gained the weight back!! It is now in weird places. Have anyone seen this?
Yes, I have seen this. Liposuction is not forever, we still need to watch what we eat, exercise, and of course healthy lifestyle. It’s hard but if you think of how much you spent to get that gorgeous body… I think that would be a good motivation.
My doctor’s friend told her when she gained weight after liposuction that the way her body stores the fat and how it is distributed to the body will differ from before the surgery because the fat cells removed do not go back. We have a limited number of fat cells so other cells will grow once you gain weight.
Liposuction is a contouring procedure and not a weight loss procedure. The patients should already be in their ideal weight before before even considering this.
